Privacy & Data
What data does the app collect?
Email (for your account), location (to show nearby dives — only when you're using the app), profile info (display name, optional certifications), and dive activity (logs, photos, ratings).
Is my location tracked in the background?
No. The app only accesses your location while you're actively using it (foreground only).
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can request full account deletion at any time. All your data is removed within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Who can see my information?
Only other participants of the same dive can see your profile and activity. You control visibility in your privacy settings.
Dive Safety
Does FreediveFinder replace dive training?
No. The app is a discovery and coordination tool. It does not provide training, safety assessments, or medical advice. Always dive with proper training and a qualified buddy.
Is FreediveFinder responsible for dive safety?
No. You are responsible for your own safety. See our Terms of Service for the full safety disclaimer.
Technical
Why do I need to allow location access?
To show dive sites and dives near you. You can disable this in settings — you'll still be able to search and browse manually.
Can I use the app offline?
Limited offline functionality — cached data is available, but creating or joining dives requires a connection.
